Database Leadership Role


As a seasoned Database Administrator, you will spearhead the modernization of legacy systems and design databases for future applications. Your key role involves leading high-impact projects, collaborating with developers, IT, and business teams to ensure data systems are secure, efficient, and scalable.

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available database solutions using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other RDBMS.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage management techniques.
  • Develop and enforce robust database security controls including encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support software releases and schema changes.
  • Automate routine database operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot replication, clustering, and failover configurations to ensure seamless data availability.
  • Evaluate new database technologies and recommend adoption strategies to enhance system efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 7+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, design, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in SQL Server with working knowledge of other RDBMS, strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance analysis tools.
  • Experience with HA/DR solutions, solid understanding of database security, compliance, and role-based access control.
  • Proficient in automation scripting and familiar with CI/CD pipelines and integrating DB changes into DevOps workflows.
