Cloud Technology Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual with solid technical credentials for the position of Cloud Professional within our organization. In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy modern cloud native software applications and services.

About the Position

In this opportunity as a Cloud Professional, you will:

Develop expertise in Amazon, Microsoft Azure, or Google cloud providers, focusing on landing zone services, tools, and processes.

Promote Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions

Implement discrete micro services with simple repeatable cloud native architectural patterns

Utilize various open source software and tools

Employ continuous delivery and infrastructure automation tools such as Git and Azure DevOps

Apply programming languages like Python, C#, and Bash

Manage distributed data stores including S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Azure Storage, CosmosDB, Azure SQL, and Redis cache

Adhere to security best practices for cloud environments

Deploy serverless architecture using AWS Lambda, Azure Functions

Employ container technology such as Docker, AWS ECS, and Azure Kubernetes Service

Monitor cloud performance using Azure Monitor and DataDog

Participate in a high-performance Cloud Operations team in all aspects of operating a production, hosted product in the cloud (AWS/Azure)

Collaborate with peers in the 24/7 rotation to provide service and infrastructure support and troubleshooting assistance

Operations work includes resource provisioning, deployments, troubleshooting, monitoring, alerting, configuration management, access management, and continually improving standards for these activities

Respond to alerts and resolve incidents and requests for the supported environment using ServiceNow-based ticketing system

Handle change and incident management for CloudOps teams

Develop and refine solutions and services for Cloud Landing zones, working with all cloud providers and their landing zone services, tools, and solutions

Work with other teams in a CI/CD environment, including development, client services, product management, and security

Communicate effectively to ensure accuracy of work, requirements are met, and expectations are set

Code for infrastructure continuous build and delivery automation

Ensure consistency with cloud architectural guiding principles for assigned projects

Stay up to date with emerging cloud technology trends, open source software, and cloud vendors

About You :

You are a fit for the role of Cloud Engineer if you:

Have skills with Cloud Landing zones, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP

Hold a minimum of 3 to 6 years of engineering experience, including scripting languages like Python, Perl, or UNIX/Shell

Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly

Proven ability to solve complex problems independently

Excellent communication skills, including effective presentation skills

1+ year of experience within a development team, including time management, prioritization, project status updates, roadblocks, accomplishments, and workload management

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems, identify solutions, and drive resolution

Ability to work well within a team environment and one-on-one

Experience building cloud-native applications and services following cloud-native architecture methodologies, running in the public cloud

Comfortable working in Windows and *Nix environments, including writing scripts

Experience demonstrating best practices through a consultative approach

Outgoing innovator investigating new technologies and suggesting technology and/or process improvements

A creative problem-solver with strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
