Pharmacist Job Description

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment to ensure seamless delivery of pharmaceutical services.

  • To receive patients/customers with a smile and greet them.
  • Maintain good relations with customers/doctors.
  • Receive and transcribe prescriptions from customers, advise on medicine dosages, and provide counseling if needed.
  • Dispense drugs pursuant to a doctor's prescription. If prescribed medicines are unavailable, make necessary arrangements for 100% prescription fulfillment.
  • Cross-check issued medicines with bills regarding patient name, item name, quantity, expiry, batch number, and acknowledge the bill.
  • Store drugs under proper refrigeration conditions.
  • Maintain a free home delivery register and follow up on medicine deliveries to customers in time.
  • Prepare bills in POS and collect cash.
  • Check quantity, MRP, batch number, and date of expiry of received items from DC.
  • Enter stocks in POS and take printouts of receipts from DC/Distributor for cross-checking with items issue lists from DC.
  • Maintain records for no stock items and follow up on the same.
  • Ensure 100% physical stock tally according to category (Tablets, Syrups, Injections, Fluids, Ointments, Liquids, Capsules, Powders, Drops, Surgical, Miscellaneous) twice a week.
  • Perform daily rack-wise verification of fast-moving items.
  • Handle inbound calls primarily focusing on drug information, patient counseling/education, and free home delivery orders.
  • Handle patient queries and issues related to drug therapy and drug information.
  • Handle cash in billing counters as required.
  • Perform any other jobs assigned by the in-charge as per work exigencies.
  • Ensure shift handovers and takeovers are given before leaving the work area.
