About this role:

We are seeking a seasoned procurement professional to manage all aspects of purchasing, including sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and a proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving Bill of Material from Design Department and obtaining quotations from vendors.
  • Developing cash flow plans to support projects, including regular updates on costs incurred.
  • Preparing comparative quotations for management review.
  • Issuing purchase/work orders to vendors with appropriate payment terms and delivery conditions.
  • Following up with the accounts team for release of advances and running payments to vendors as per terms.
  • Ensuring timely material delivery by regular follow-up with vendors.
  • Monitoring material inspection upon readiness.
  • Coordinating with vendors and transporters for delivery of materials on time and in good condition.
  • Tracking vendor invoices.
  • Entering invoices into our system.
  • Providing weekly financial project progress reports to management.
  • Maintaining a database of vendors.
  • Managing insurance policies for work, workers, and movement.
  • Supporting Tender/BD team in costing of upcoming projects/Tenders.
  • Working out project requirements regarding utilities, procurement activities, and monitoring overall operations for timely completion.
  • Implementing and documenting procurement systems, managing commercial activities related to contracts, equipment, and other activities.
  • Liaising with site project management to minimize communication gaps between the procurement department and end users for timely expedition of materials at project sites.
  • Engaging with vendors, architects, and contractors, and monitoring expenses for optimal resource utilization.
  • Providing management reports and key performance data, and managing relationships with existing and new suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with 7-10 years of experience in procurement.
  • Familiarity with products, functions, application parts, and manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and raw materials.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and Analytics.
