Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable specialist to join our team in Chennai, India.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 1-2 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting.

  • Accurate entry and coding of supplier invoices in the system
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including TDS, GST, and other applicable regulations.
  • Matching purchase orders with invoices and checking for discrepancies
  • Supporting weekly payment runs and maintaining payment records
  • Reconciling bank accounts and company credit card statements and other key accounts as part of the month-end process
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities

This role involves accurately entering and coding supplier invoices in our system, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, matching purchase orders with invoices, and supporting weekly payment runs.

You will also be responsible for reconciling bank accounts, maintaining up-to-date vendor records, and assisting with month-end close and year-end activities.

Additionally, you will provide support during Vendor-on boarding process, audits, and ad hoc finance projects as required.
