Backend Engineering Leader

Overview

As a key member of our engineering team, we seek an exceptional Senior Backend Developer to drive the development and maintenance of our flagship Proptech platform. This individual will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing the backend infrastructure that powers our comprehensive ecosystem.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure server-side logic that underpins our platform's core services and APIs.
  • Lead the integration of various third-party services, including payment gateways, mapping services, messaging APIs, and virtual tour providers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build data pipelines and API endpoints for advanced features like recommendation engines and automated property valuations.
  • Work closely with the Web3 team to integrate blockchain platforms for tokenization and cryptocurrency payment gateways.
  • Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices for coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and implement a service-oriented or microservices-based architecture to support long-term growth and feature expansion.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a proven track record of building and launching complex, high-traffic applications.
  • Expert proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language and framework (e.g., Python with Django/Flask, Node.js with Express, Go, or Java with Spring).
  • Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
  • Deep expertise in relational database design and management, particularly with PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and deploying applications in a cloud environment.
  • Solid understanding of software security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in the PropTech (Property Technology) or FinTech sectors.
  • Experience working on projects that involve AI/ML, such as building APIs for recommendation systems or predictive models.
  • Familiarity with blockchain concepts and experience integrating backend systems with Web3 technologies.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., data warehouses like BigQuery/Redshift) and building data pipelines.
