Senior Backend Engineer - Video Development

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable video processing features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement complex backend solutions for video encoding, transcoding, and adaptive streaming.
  • Work with tools like FFmpeg and GStreamer to manage various codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9, AV1) and formats (MP4, WebM, HLS, DASH).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver impactful features.
  • Mentor junior engineers by providing code reviews and design feedback.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.
  • Over 7 years of backend software development experience with a strong emphasis on distributed systems and video processing.
  • Proficient in backend technologies such as Python, Java, or Go.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with video technologies including video codecs and compression techniques.
  • A proven track record of serving as a tech lead and managing complex initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design.
  • Strong experience in performance optimization, debugging, and scaling complex applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with real-time video streaming technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and experience with distributed databases and message queues.
  • Understanding of DRM, video watermarking, and security best practices.
