This role involves managing production resources and activities efficiently to meet our goals and objectives.
About the RoleThis challenging position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and expertise in polymer/extrusion experience. As an Operations Head, you will be responsible for:
- Operating plant and equipment safely, ensuring no safety control or system is bypassed
- Manufacturing products according to specified control parameters to meet production standards
- Developing a weekly/monthly production plan to meet demand, maximising OTIF (On-Time In-Full) and OR (Order Rate)
In this role, you will collaborate with the planner to procure and issue materials as per the BOM (Bill of Materials) to meet the production plan. You will also identify and address deviations from the BOM, adjusting for over/under-consumption, and regularly update BOMs to reflect performance accurately.
ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of this role include:
- Placing orders and tracking inventory levels
- Managing production scheduling and workflow
- Ensuring compliance with quality control standards
You will work closely with the engineering team to implement preventive maintenance, extend MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and lower maintenance costs.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree or diploma in Production/Operations Management and/or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Polymer/extrusion experience is essential
- Experience in FMCG manufacturing
- Talent development and people management skills
- Knowledge of operational machinery and maintenance
- BASIC organisational skills
