Job Title:
Accessibility Specialist Ensuring Compliance

About the Role:

The role of an accessibility specialist involves ensuring that digital products meet ADA, WCAG, and Section 508 compliance requirements. This includes auditing, testing, and remediation to guarantee equal access for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough audits of websites, portals, LMS, documents, and multimedia content to identify accessibility gaps.
  • Perform real-user accessibility testing using screen readers and keyboard-only navigation to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Provide actionable fixes and hands-on support for document accessibility, including tagging, structure, alt text, headings, and reading order.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement accessible coding practices and ensure web content meets industry standards.
  • Prepare and deliver VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation.
  • Offer expert advice on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws.
  • Support ongoing monitoring and compliance programs to maintain high standards of accessibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, and Section 504/508 regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus).
  • Strong documentation/reporting skills to communicate audit findings and compliance status effectively.
