Job Title: APIGEE Platform Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an APIGEE Platform Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with expertise in APIGEE runtime deployment, Hybrid platform management, and cloud-native infrastructure automation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing APIGEE Hybrid runtime on Kubernetes clusters, automating infrastructure with Terraform, and managing applications using Helm charts. Strong skills in Bash/Shell scripting and Python for automation and operational tasks are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, Deploy, and Manage: APIGEE Hybrid runtime plane on Kubernetes clusters (GKE, AKS, or on-prem).
  • Install, Upgrade, Patch, and Maintain: APIGEE Hybrid and X environments.
  • Manage Runtime Components: Message Processors, Synchronizers, and Cassandra clusters within Kubernetes.
  • Automate Provisioning and Deployment: Using Terraform and Helm charts.
  • Develop Automation Scripts: To streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with API Teams: Support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
  • Implement CI/CD Pipelines: For platform deployments and API lifecycle management.
  • Monitor Platform Health: Capacity planning, and troubleshoot runtime and infrastructure issues.
  • Work with Network, Security, and Cloud Teams: Configure secure and compliant environments.
  • Support Multi-Cloud and Hybrid Strategies: Ensuring seamless integration and governance.
  • Document Platform Architecture: Operational procedures, and automation workflows.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • APIGEE Expertise:
    • Experience with APIGEE Hybrid platform deployment and runtime management.
    • Familiarity with APIGEE X and API management concepts (OAuth, JWT, API keys, SSL/TLS).
    • Experience with API proxy development, debugging, and policy implementation.
  • Kubernetes & Containerization:
    • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters (GKE, AKS, or on-prem).
    • Proficient in deploying containerized applications using Helm charts.
    • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, and service mesh is a plus.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
    • Extensive Terraform experience for provisioning cloud and Kubernetes resources.
    • Using the Terraform Helm provider to deploy applications on Kubernetes.
  • Scripting & Automation:
    • Strong skills in Bash/Shell scripting and Python for automation and operational tasks.
    • Experience developing automation pipelines for deployment and monitoring.
  • Cloud Platform Experience:
    • Solid understanding of GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM).
    • Multi-cloud or hybrid environment experience is a plus.
  • DevOps & CI/CD:
    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).
    • Integrating APIGEE deployments into automated pipelines.
  • Networking & Security:
    • Understanding of network security, firewall rules, VPNs, and cloud security best practices.
    • API security standards and compliance requirements knowledge.
