The role of Marine Operations Specialist involves supporting the Technical department in managing day-to-day technical operations of assigned vessels. This includes monitoring vessel performance, contributing to planned maintenance, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.

This position serves as a learning and support function, preparing the incumbent for more senior technical management roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the marine industry, preferably with experience in technical capacity, familiarity with maritime regulations, and working knowledge of planned maintenance systems.

Key responsibilities include providing technical support and compliance, participating in the implementation of the Safety Management System, and following up on shipboard quality assurance system requirements.

Additionally, the Marine Operations Specialist will assist Technical Superintendents in planning repairs, dry-docking, and surveys, track pending maintenance jobs, and support collection and analysis of maintenance data and downtime reports.

They will also assist in follow-up of insurance and claim-related matters, support documentation and recordkeeping for certification and statutory compliance, and maintain budget logs and cost control reports for technical expenditures.

Finally, the successful candidate will provide operational support to shipboard teams, promote onboard safety awareness, environmental compliance, and energy efficiency efforts, and contribute to the development and revision of technical procedures and manuals.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
