Dolat Capital, a technology-driven quantitative trading firm, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support low-latency trading network technology and solutions. The role will focus on co-location networks, including client, exchange, and vendor connectivity across the Mumbai region.

As a Network Engineer, you will work on the organization's production network infrastructure, ensuring it is always fast, available, scalable, and engineered to withstand unprecedented outages. You will collaborate with a team that combines network engineering, operations, system administration, and develops automation tools to enhance and operate the firm's network platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure network infrastructure, emphasizing complex multicast traffic.
  • Lay out data centers, managing a complex WAN and LAN with approximately 4 data centers.
  • Recommend hardware and software upgrades to reduce system latency.
  • Install, configure, support, and maintain servers and desktop computers, primarily using Linux servers for trading and a mix of Windows and Linux for development.
  • Help design servers optimized for performance and low latency.
  • Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks, such as tape backups.
  • Benchmark technology components to determine their latency and bandwidth.
  • Manage network configuration and investigate offerings or technologies to optimize circuit and network performance.
  • Review middleware and messaging software/libraries to ensure optimal usage.
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems.
  • Review capacity reports, problem records, and performance monitors to evaluate network performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with development teams to ensure all proprietary and third-party applications integrate properly with the firm's network infrastructure.
  • Order and manage circuit extensions/cross-connects from carrier demarcation points to the firm's cage and equipment.
  • Manage collocation sites at financial exchanges.
  • Maintain network diagrams and associated network documentation.
  • Upgrade network hardware and software as required.
  • Manage providers to resolve connectivity-related invoice discrepancies and faults.
  • Ensure vendor SLAs are met.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • CCNA certification or completion of the CCNA & CCNP training course.
  • Knowledge of installation and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Arista, and Dell Force 10.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong Network Engineering/Support knowledge.
  • Good understanding of Unicast and Multicast LAN/WAN using EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, PIM-SM, and IGMP.
  • Co-location skills, including exchange, connectivity, and campus expertise.
  • Vendor technology knowledge, particularly Cisco and Arista.
  • Experience in low-latency trading environments and WANs is desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, manage projects, design solutions, and deliver technology implementations.
  • Scripting/automation knowledge and performance, capacity, and monitoring using packet analyzers like Wireshark are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, ARP, IP Tables, and routing.
  • Excellent analytical skills, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility, urgency, and drive.
  • Experience with network security, including firewalls from Fortinet, Palo Alto, or CheckPoint, is a plus.
