Senior Public Relations Manager Role Overview

This is a high-ownership position for someone who excels in efficient public relations environments, knows how to collaborate closely with media houses and government stakeholders, and can deliver impactful editorial results under tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops comprehensive public relations strategies, planning, pitching, and publishing with minimal dependency.
  • Scores secure editorials, op-eds, and thought leadership pieces across top-tier publications.
  • BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH JOURNALISTS, EDITORS, AND MEDIA OWNERS ACROSS POLICY, BUSINESS, AND IMPACT BEATS IS KEY.
  • Manages press relations for high-stakes projects, especially in public-sector or compliance-heavy environments.
  • Operates under real-world constraints, including deadlines and approvals, without compromising results.
  • Runs lean campaigns with agility while building strong media narratives for the brand.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 6–9 years of experience in PR/communications, preferably from boutique PR firms or independent consulting.
  • A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF GETTING EDITORIALS AND HIGH-QUALITY COVERAGE WITH LEAN TEAMS IS ESSENTIAL.
  • Experience handling government projects or public policy communication is desirable.
  • DEEP MEDIA RELATIONSHIPS AND A RESPECTED REPUTATION IN THE PR ECOSYSTEM ARE KEY TO SUCCESS.
  • A self-starter with the hunger and mindset of an entrepreneur.
  • The ability to think on your feet, act under pressure, and deliver without constant supervision.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in sustainability, cleantech, policy, or ESG space is an asset.
  • The ability to script, ghostwrite, or package complex stories simply is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with media analytics tools is advantageous.
