Release Team Lead

Seeking a seasoned professional to lead the release planning and execution process. With 12-15 years of experience, you will develop comprehensive plans that outline timelines, milestones, and dependencies across the release lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Release Planning & Execution: Develop, maintain, and manage release plans to ensure successful releases.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Development, QA, Operations, and Product Management teams to align all teams for upcoming releases.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, track, and mitigate potential risks or issues impacting release timelines or quality.
  • Change Management: Ensure well-documented changes are communicated and approved according to established change control processes.
  • Cloud Deployment Oversight: Coordinate cloud deployments (e.g., AWS) ensuring compliance with security and operational policies.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Champion continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices; drive automation for reliable and efficient releases.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track release progress and provide regular updates, including performance metrics and status reports.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead issue resolution during release phases to minimize disruption.
  • Release Calendar Management: Maintain and coordinate the organization's release calendar.
  • Merge Management: Oversee merging validated changes into main code branches.
  • Change Advisory Board (CAB): Present planned changes in CAB meetings and secure approvals as required.
  • Go/No-Go Readiness: Organize Go/No-Go meetings with stakeholders to assess readiness before deployment.
  • Post-Release Activities: Monitor post-release performance and facilitate Post-Implementation Reviews (PIR).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect)
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Strong understanding of release processes in complex environments
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and optimize workflows
