Job Title: Senior Sql Database Administrator

  • Our team is looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in SQL Server administration, configuration, and management.
  • A key requirement for this role is the ability to install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL 2005 – SQL 2022.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, Hotfixes (GDR, QFE), and patching hierarchy.
  • This position also requires proficiency in upgrading/migrating SQL Server from older versions to newer ones, including SQL 2005 to SQL 2022.
  • We are seeking someone who can configure Linked Servers between same or different SQL Server versions.
  • A critical skill for this role is expertise in setting up contained databases and utilizing them for effective migrations.
  • The successful candidate must be able to configure recovery models and design backup strategies.
  • Fine-tuning backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters is also essential.
  • This role involves handling Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions.
  • We need someone who can configure HADR like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication.
  • A strong understanding of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands is required.
  • Knowledgeable about SQL Server Cluster scenarios Failover, Adding Disk to existing instance with dependencies, Advanced Cluster Parameters.
  • Expertise in configuring Always-On AG on standalone instances across Windows Cluster in Synchronous mode and Asynchronous mode.
Mandatory Skills:
  • A strong knowledge of SQL Server Architecture, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures is a must.
  • Administration and configuration of HA/ DR solutions, Clustering, Always-ON Group, etc. are key responsibilities.
  • Configuring and managing all types of Replications and troubleshooting is essential.
  • Patch management is also a critical aspect of this role.
  • Always On AG scenarios - Failover is a key requirement.
  • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities are ongoing tasks.
  • Automation using scripts and tools for Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management is expected.
  • SQL Server Tuning is a critical skill for this role.
