Job Title: Embedded Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team at Azilen Technologies. As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions using the latest technologies and tools. You will work on developing custom Linux-based operating systems for embedded devices, writing and maintaining Linux bash shell scripts for automation and system management, and implementing security features using OpenSSL and managing firewall settings with FirewallD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom Linux-based operating systems for embedded devices.
  • Write and maintain Linux bash shell scripts for automation and system management.
  • Implement security features using OpenSSL and manage firewall settings with FirewallD.
  • Configure and manage SSH for secure remote access.
  • Develop and deploy secure storage solutions using X.509 certificates.
  • Integrate and manage devices with Azure IoT Hub.
  • Implement security policies using AppArmor.
  • Utilize Mender for over-the-air (OTA) updates of embedded devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues to ensure optimal performance of embedded systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience in building custom OS for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging Linux bash shell scripts.
  • Knowledge of Linux services management using systemd.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and Network Manager.
  • Experience with QEMU virtualization for embedded systems development and testing.
  • Familiarity with UEFI and GRUB bootloaders.
  • Experience in Linux user management and permissions.
  • Proficiency with Nginx web server configuration and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL for secure communications.
  • Experience with FirewallD for managing firewall rules.
  • Ability to configure and manage SSH for secure remote access.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with MKOSI for creating system images.
  • Knowledge of X.509 certificates for secure communication.
  • Hand-on experience with Azure IoT Hub integration.
  • Understanding of AppArmor for implementing security policies.
  • Basic hand-on experience with Mender for OTA updates.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with version control systems (i.e. Git).
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ or Python for embedded system development.
  • Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and their integration with Linux.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
