Job Title

R&D Associate, Microbiology

Job Description:

This role is crucial in substantiating antimicrobial claims for new projects and providing microbiological support for development of new products across categories.

In this position, you will work within a team of global microbiologists to drive data generation, analysis, and recommendations around antimicrobial performance of personal care and surface care innovations.

You will also be responsible for managing interactions with external labs and institutions while working on innovation projects, maintaining and improving the microbiology lab according to global quality and safety guidelines.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support New Product Development teams in substantiating antimicrobial claims for new projects
  • Independently plan and conduct experiments to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of prototype formulations, finished products as per global and internal standard methods
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement of R&D laboratory procedures and best practices and recommend minor modifications to existing techniques, processes, systems, or programs
  • Maintain lab records in compliance with Microbiology Laboratory and Global Quality standards
  • Liaise with external laboratories in a professional and productive manner to ensure delivery of results on time
Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with experience in FMCG or cleaning and hygiene product manufacturing industry, preferably with hands-on experience of conducting antimicrobial performance evaluations using global standards like EN, ASTM, and ISO.

A self-starter with hunger to learn, excellent communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with global team members will excel in this role.

You should have a deep understanding of subject matter to provide expert advice and take time to listen to customers' needs and transform them into product insights.
