Diagnostic Coordinator Position

Job Description:

  • Coordinate diagnostic tests, including blood tests, X-rays, and MRIs, based on doctor referrals or patient requests.
  • Streamline patient visits by coordinating timing between multiple diagnostic departments.
  • Confirm appointments and follow up on rescheduling or cancellations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with registration and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Collect patient history relevant to the diagnostic procedure, including allergies and fasting status.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Inform patients about test preparation requirements and provide clear instructions for specialized tests.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained when required.
  • Communicate with diagnostic technicians and pathologists to coordinate test orders and priorities.
  • Follow up on test results and their dispatch to patients or referring physicians.
  • Provide care and comfort to elderly, disabled, or anxious patients.
  • Address patient queries related to procedures, waiting times, or results.
  • Ensure a clean, welcoming, and stress-free diagnostic environment.
  • Verify patient insurance and eligibility for diagnostics services.
  • Generate cost estimates and facilitate payments or reimbursements.
  • Monitor the timely availability of reports and inform patients once ready.
  • Deliver soft or hard copies of test results as per patient preference.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (B.A, B.C.A, B.B.A, B.Com, BDS).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
