Senior Engineer (GenAI & Prompt Engineering)

Job Description:

As a Senior Engineer in GenAI and Prompt Engineering, you will be instrumental in integrating cutting-edge AI technologies into our engineering and DevOps ecosystem. Your expertise in designing intelligent assistants and agents will help augment CI/CD workflows, knowledge retrieval, incident handling, and developer productivity.

Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing prompts for Large Language Model (LLM) workflows, building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases, and integrating LLMs into internal tools and observability dashboards.

  • Design & Optimize Prompts: Craft accurate and relevant prompts to ensure the best outcomes from LLM workflows.
  • Build RAG Pipelines: Develop efficient pipelines that leverage vector databases like FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Qdrant.
  • Integrate LLMs: Seamlessly integrate LLMs into internal tools, CI/CD pipelines, and observability dashboards.
  • Implement GenAI Solutions: Utilize frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, and Hugging Face to implement GenAI solutions.
  • Fine-Tune LLMs: Tailor open-source or commercial LLMs to specific domain use cases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6-10+ years of experience in software development with 2+ years hands-on experience in GenAI, LLMs, and NLP.
  • Strong Python skills with expertise in LangChain, Hugging Face, and LlamaIndex.
  • Deep understanding of vector databases and embeddings.
  • Proven track record of designing and deploying RAG architectures.
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs from OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, etc.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with multi-modal models or fine-tuning LLMs.
  • Knowledge of developer-facing GenAI use cases such as infrastructure-as-code review, changelog generation, and log triage.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, GitOps, and DevSecOps.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work model: 3 days/week in office.
  • Flexible work location within Xebia's offices across India.
