Job Title: Hedge Fund Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our team as a Hedge Fund Analyst. The ideal candidate will have experience in fund accounting or hedge fund operations, preferably with exposure to NAV calculation and reconciliation processes.

The role involves preparing and reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for hedge fund portfolios, performing Profit and Loss (P&L) reconciliation between fund administrator reports, internal records, and prime broker statements, and carrying out cash reconciliation across custodians, banks, and internal systems.

The selected candidate will also investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, pricing, fees, and expenses, support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals, assist in performance reporting and investor statements, coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure accurate trade settlement and reporting, collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to validate portfolio data and performance metrics, and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations for hedge fund portfolios.
  • Perform P&L reconciliation between fund administrator reports, internal records, and prime broker statements.
  • Carry out cash reconciliation across custodians, banks, and internal systems.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, pricing, fees, and expenses.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Assist in performance reporting and investor statements.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure accurate trade settlement and reporting.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to validate portfolio data and performance metrics.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in fund accounting or hedge fund operations, preferably with exposure to NAV calculation and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, fixed income, FX, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of fund accounting software is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
