Key Responsibilities of a Gynecologist:

• Complete inpatient department and operating theater tasks at the start of each day.

• Initiate outpatient department activities.

• Conduct consultations and provide counseling to all outpatient patients.

• Perform intrauterine insemination, sonography, and other medical procedures as required.

• Issue prescriptions and requisitions for patients' treatment.

• Collaborate with assistant doctors and sisters in morning and evening rounds to ensure smooth patient care.

• Verify that patient files are complete and up-to-date.

• Review daily orders written by assistant doctors.

• Monitor patients' parameters and investigations.

• Examine monitoring charts.

• Confirm IPD and OT consents for newly admitted patients.

• Advise patients on necessary investigations and inform them accordingly.

• Inquire about patients' complaints and take corrective actions.

• Participate in evening rounds with sisters.

• Conduct operative procedures such as OPU, ET, and hysteroscopy.

• Ensure timely commencement of scheduled operative procedures.

• Verify that pre-operative preparation is completed by OT sisters according to the pre-op checklist.

• Assist or conduct OT washup.

• Enter anaesthesia notes.

• Record OT notes.

• Provide post-operative orders to assistant doctors.

• Conduct immediate post-operative rounds to ensure compliance with post-op orders.

• Provide post-operative counseling to patients' relatives.

• Ensure accurate software entries to record post-operative findings by sisters and assistant doctors.

• Decide on discharge, preparing discharge papers with RMO assistance.

• Verify documentation completion by assistant doctor IPD and sister, handing over files to HR.

• Respond promptly to emergencies, seeking senior gynaecologist assistance if complications arise.

• Attend camps and outreach OPDs.

• Oversee and manage clinical staff.
