We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Expert to join our VMware Operations team at American Express.

This is a critical role that requires someone with a strong background in managing large enterprise-level VMware environments. As a Cloud Operations Expert, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational support for VMware OS and associated operations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in managing large enterprise-level VMware environments, with expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Nutanix, UCS, and vSAN.

You will work closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure, including troubleshooting and resolving issues, performing upgrades, and maintaining hardware and tools.

In addition to your technical skills, you should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.

We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing operational support for VMware OS and associated operations
  • Managing virtualization technologies such as VMware, Nutanix, UCS, and vSAN
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hardware and operating systems
  • Maintaining hardware and tools, including ESXi hosts and vCenter servers
  • Performing upgrades and maintenance tasks
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth operation of cloud infrastructure

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in managing large enterprise-level VMware environments
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Nutanix, UCS, and vSAN
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or management information systems
