Enterprise Data Initiatives Steward

Job Description:

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Data Steward to support enterprise data initiatives. As a critical member of our data team, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data pipelines across various platforms.

This position will be responsible for serving as a business and technical steward for assigned data domains. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining metadata, business glossary, and data catalog entries in data governance tools like Collibra or similar.

  • Stewardship Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with data owners to enforce data definitions, classifications, and data quality rules.
  • Perform data profiling, issue identification, and remediation coordination.
  • Support the onboarding of new data assets (cataloging, lineage, and stewardship assignments).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support PII tagging, data masking, and access governance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance or operations.
  • Hands-on experience with data management tools (e.g., data catalogs, MDM systems, data quality platforms).
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data classification practices.
  • Technical skills in SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs for tool integration and automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms is an asset.
