Detailed Job Description

The role involves taking patient histories and conducting ocular assessments.

Vision tests, including refraction, are also performed with prescriptions made for glasses under the guidance of a consultant ophthalmologist. Ophthalmic investigations such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography (FFA), fundus photography and LASER technology are used in assessing patients. The successful candidate will assist in LASIK surgical procedures and premium intraocular lens (IOL) LASIK workups. In addition, they will be responsible for training optometry students, providing patient counseling and conducting follow-up consultations. They must maintain accurate records in health management information systems (HMIS).

This position requires strong communication and patient care skills. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree or diploma in optometry and at least two years of experience. They should be able to independently manage operations with flexibility across different hospital settings.
