Lead QA Engineer (Automation) Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Automation Quality Assurance Specialist to head our Quality Assurance team and drive automation-first quality practices across our global product development lifecycle.

This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in automation frameworks, process governance, team management, and agile delivery. As the QA leader, you will own the testing strategy, guide senior and junior QA engineers, and work closely with product, development, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing applications across multiple environments, geographies, and mobile platforms.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SAP E-commerce back office testing, with experience in setting up and scaling QA automation frameworks for enterprise applications.

Apart from technical expertise, we also value excellent leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills. You will be responsible for creating and presenting QA metrics, dashboards, and quality KPIs for leadership review.

We are looking for a seasoned professional who can take ownership of QA leadership across enterprise platforms and lead the development of strategic plans to achieve business objectives.

About the Role

  • Owning the testing strategy and guiding senior and junior QA engineers
  • Leading the development of strategic plans to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborating with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps teams
  • Standardizing automation frameworks across projects
  • Driving CI/CD integration of automation pipelines with GitLab and Jenkins
  • Overseeing test execution across multi-environment setups
  • Establishing test governance and defect triage processes
  • Fostering a culture of quality and automation-first mindset

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of QA experience, with at least 6+ years in automation testing and 3+ years in team leadership/management
  • Deep expertise in WebdriverIO, TypeScript, Cucumber, Jenkins, npm, and GitLab CI/CD
  • Proven experience in setting up and scaling QA automation frameworks for enterprise applications
  • Strong background in SAP E-commerce back office testing
  • Proficiency with test management tools (Zephyr) and defect tracking (JIRA)
  • Experience with Kibana logs analysis and production issue triaging
  • Strong exposure to multi-environment, cross-region, and mobile platform testing
