About this position.

This Senior Engineering Manager will oversee day-to-day application development projects and software engineering for the Reservations Platform group.

The ideal candidate will directly manage software engineers and project managers, delivering on commitments to discipline partners and collaborating with architects on major organizational initiatives across multiple channels and platforms.

Responsibilities include managing application development standards, processes, and tools, facilitating compliance with standard set of application development tools and processes, estimating standard tools and processes, and monitoring projects for adherence to defined application development processes.

The successful candidate will also facilitate team and service provider compliance with the agreement, validate service levels meet business needs, and enforce good service provider contracts.

Additionally, they will provide input to IT's business strategy and planning as needed, support and follow defined IT Governance decision rights, standards, and practices, and emphasize accuracy and effectiveness of estimating and planning management with team.

This role will also drive adoption of CMMi or similar metrics to demonstrate continuous improvement and alignment with industry, and work with application development service providers, IT teams, and business partners to implement continuous improvement activities.

Requirements include 10+ years of application development leadership experience, 7+ years of technical experience within architecture development, integration of backend systems and development, in-depth knowledge of integration approaches and architectures, deep understanding of pros and cons of cloud-native solution, microservices-architecture, and API orchestration architecture.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy-to-understand business terms, bridge technology and business gaps, possess strong problem-solving skills, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
