Database Administrator Job Opportunity

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and security of our databases. This includes creating, installing, and managing our databases, as well as analyzing and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

You will collaborate with other team members to manage both production SQL-based and NoSQL databases, including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting, and backup.

Additionally, you will install, configure, and upgrade nodes in high availability customer production clusters, and manage an international 24x7, multi-site production infrastructure powering our services, including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.

Required skills and qualifications include at least 7 years of relevant experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of NoSQL databases, as well as experience managing Kafka message bus infrastructures and automating management of systems & database using common scripting languages.

Other responsibilities include developing processes, tools, and documentation in support of production operations, collaborating with product engineering teams to ensure operations standards are observed, and contributing to the evolving design and architecture of reliable and scalable infrastructure.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • Experience managing Kafka message bus infrastructures
  • Experience automating management of systems & database using common scripting languages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems
  • Experience with industry-standard operational practices such as change management, incident management, and working in both public clouds and traditional colocation datacenters
  • Experience using Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or analogous configuration management systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
