Key Datacenter Networking Role

A highly skilled datacenter network engineer is required to support Cisco in our global team. This role involves deep expertise in Cisco Nexus technologies and a proven ability to design, optimize, and secure large-scale enterprise datacenter networks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring network resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency in complex environments while driving innovation through automation and modern datacenter practices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage advanced datacenter networking solutions built on Cisco Nexus platforms (NX-OS, Nexus 5K/7K; Nexus 9K exposure is beneficial).
  • Configure and troubleshoot advanced Cisco datacenter technologies including Virtual Port Channel (vPC) for high availability and load balancing.
  • Ensure continuous availability, security, and performance of datacenter network infrastructure.
  • Perform capacity planning, proactive monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Leverage automation and scripting to streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and enhance operational consistency.
  • Actively contribute to incident management, root cause analysis, and change control processes.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco Nexus platforms (NX-OS, Nexus 5K/7K; Nexus 9K desirable).
  • In-depth knowledge of vPC, OTV, and FabricPath technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Layer 2/3 networking protocols, datacenter topologies, and enterprise-class environments.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting or equivalent programming for automation and network optimization.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with network automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Netmiko, Nornir).
  • Knowledge of network virtualization and emerging datacenter technologies (VXLAN, EVPN, SDN).
