  • TSO/ISPF: Gain experience with Time Sharing Option/Interactive System Productivity Facility for seamless interaction with the z/OS system.
  • RACF (Resource Access Control Facility): Familiarize yourself with RACF security features, including access control, authentication, and authorization.
  • SDSF (System Display and Search Facility): Develop skills in monitoring and managing system resources using SDSF, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness.
  • Programming Languages: Master languages like COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, and REXX to craft efficient and scalable mainframe applications.
  • Database Management: Work with mainframe databases like DB2 and IMS, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Problem Solving: Cultivate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex system issues and optimize performance.
  • Networking: Understand mainframe networking concepts, including communication protocols, network topologies, and security measures.
