Job Title: Senior System Administrator

Overview:

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to oversee the implementation and management of GitLab infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Infrastructure Management: Develop, implement, and maintain efficient Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code tools to establish and configure necessary infrastructure for GitLab servers.
  2. Integration and Security: Collaborate with teams to design and implement seamless integrations between GitLab and existing tools and services used by the corporation, ensuring security settings and access controls are properly configured.
  3. CICD Pipelines: Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and Azure DevOps, focusing on automation and efficiency.
  4. Training and Support: Provide expert training and support to team members and engineers on utilizing GitLab effectively, creating comprehensive training materials as needed.
  5. Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot any issues with GitLab infrastructure, addressing concerns in a timely manner.
  6. Best Practices: Foster a culture of best practices for version control, code review, and collaboration within the organization, promoting efficient use of GitLab features.
  7. Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate documentation for GitLab setup and usage, facilitating knowledge sharing and transparency.
  8. Ad-Hoc Tasks: Assist with ad-hoc Azure DevOps queries, recommend best practices around Microsoft Azure, and implement scripts to automate mundane tasks.

A successful candidate will work closely with development teams to ensure smooth adoption of GitLab, handle infrastructure troubleshooting, and collaborate with the team to tackle priority-based tasks. Additional responsibilities include creating compliance policies reflecting departmental standards, configuring backups and disaster recovery plans, implementing Single Sign-On authentication, and setting up email delivery capabilities. The ideal candidate will also perform data migration from previous instances, implement incremental deployment pipelines, install advanced search capabilities, set up monitoring and alerting, and perform security hardening based on best practices.
