Credit Collection Specialist

About this role:

The Credit Collection Specialist is responsible for managing the credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, minimizing bad debts, and maintaining healthy cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Management
    • Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures.
    • Evaluate customer creditworthiness through financial analysis and risk assessments.
    • Approve or recommend credit limits and payment terms.
  • Receivables Management
    • Monitor accounts receivable ledgers to ensure timely debt collection.
    • Review and reconcile customer accounts regularly.
    • Ensure accurate and timely receipt allocation.
  • Collections
    • Lead the collections team to follow up on outstanding invoices.
    • Resolve invoice disputes and escalate problematic cases to management.
    • Maintain regular contact with key customers to secure payments.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on receivables, aging, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), bad debt provisions, and collection efficiency.
    • Highlight high-risk accounts and overdue balances to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve credit issues and support customer relationships.
    • Liaise with external agencies when required.
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage, train, and motivate the credit control team.
    • Set performance KPIs and review team performance regularly.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Support audit processes.
