Job Title:

Strategic Solution Designer

We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Solution Designer to spearhead the creation of comprehensive solution architectures, driving business value through innovative and effective design.



Responsibilities:

  1. Develop elaborate solution architectures, breaking down complex problems into manageable parts, and defining optimal solutions that meet business objectives.

  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, IT reference architecture, and ecosystem requirements, proposing feasible and relevant solutions.

  3. Communicate architectural decisions to various audiences, including business leaders, project managers, and technical teams.

  4. Ensure application architecture is proposed and approved by relevant technology review boards.

  5. Advise on estimations, identify dependencies, and create implementable work packages and project plans in collaboration with program/project managers.

  6. Perform architecture impact analysis, technology assessments, and propose solutions to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  7. Define, implement, and guard application architecture blueprints.

  8. Advise business leaders on making informed technology choices.

  9. Propose cost-effective solutions without compromising functional and non-functional requirements.

  10. Develop secured applications and packaged solutions on cloud platforms.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in the IT industry and 3+ years in application solution architecture.

  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems, security, data, and infrastructure.

  • Experience in defining, steering, and governing IT roadmaps aligned with reference architecture.

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, and out-of-the-box thinking skills.

  • Ability to break down complex problems and propose simplified solutions.

  • Experience in architecting secured solutions, managing vulnerabilities, and understanding OAuth, ISAM, and Open ID.

  • A strong strategic and business mindset, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term implications of architectural decisions.

  • Ability to navigate complex IT and business organizational structures to achieve goals and gain buy-in.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presenting briefings to senior management and business stakeholders.

  • Experience in architecting J2EE/integrations/ERP/packaged/custom development applications is advantageous.

  • Certification and experience in TOGAF or any relevant architecture methodology is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Archimate or similar UML-based tools and Mega is a plus.

  • Good understanding of cloud technologies is an advantage.

  • Working with European organizations, especially in the retail space, is an advantage.

  • Should be open to onsite travel (Belgium) for short visits as needed.
