Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to manage our Climate Solutions portfolio, driving impactful initiatives that address the climate crisis. As the Senior Manager, you will oversee the strategic direction, budget management, partner development, and project selection.

You will support partners throughout project implementation, monitor their impact, and ensure timely reporting. Your expertise in shaping topical strategies, managing budgets, and developing pipelines will be instrumental in achieving our goals.

With a focus on Nature-based Solutions and Disaster Risk Reduction, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize support and collaboration. Your analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and data-driven mindset will enable you to streamline processes and enhance toolsets for managing projects and portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the strategic direction of the Climate Solutions portfolio, focusing on Nature-based Solutions and Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive pipeline of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with our goals and objectives.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of each project, from solicitation and review to contract negotiation and implementation monitoring.
  • Enhance tools and processes for managing projects and portfolios, leveraging expertise from within and outside the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to leverage resources, expertise, and networks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and service providers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in social development, preferably in a corporate or social enterprise setting.
  • Postgraduate degree in social, sustainability, or environmental sciences preferred.
  • Proven track record in impact-oriented global portfolio management.
  • Practical knowledge of climate change scenarios and application of climate projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of trends and best practices in Climate Solutions, particularly Nature-based Solutions and Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Experience with impact investing is an asset.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • High energy, organized, and able to manage complex projects independently.
  • Collaborative, culturally sensitive, and able to work across organizational hierarchies.
