About the Role

The Senior Fleet Superintendent will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of assigned ships, working as a member of the Ship Management Team to ensure compliance with Company procedures and best ship management practices.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of engineering or naval architecture principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, control, and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion, or modification of assigned vessels.
  • Develop and implement work plans to ensure vessels are maintained in accordance with client requirements.
  • Monitor vessel performance trends, including speed, fuel, and lubricating oil consumptions, and take timely remedial actions where necessary.
  • Authorise undisputed vessel orders for stores, spares, repairs, and survey within financial limits of authority.
  • Prepare vessels for inspection/audit by PSC, Flag, Oil Major, and similar bodies.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised Engineering or Naval Architecture qualification and/or relevant experience at sea.
  • Good communication (oral and written) and English language skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
  • Previous experience as a Fleet Superintendent in a Technical Department or a Senior Engineering/Naval Architecture position in the Marine Industry.
  • Member of IMarEST and Engineering Council registration or other equivalent recognised professional registration.
