As a seasoned professional in fund accounting, you will oversee the delivery of accurate and timely net asset values (NAVs) while performing various types of reconciliations between client general ledger data and market data providers.

This role is a perfect blend of product knowledge and technology utilization. Corporate action accounting, booking of trading and non-trading accruals, portfolio pricing, computation and analysis of profit and loss are all essential components of this position.

You will be responsible for coordinating with clients and external sources for break resolution, maintaining quality delivery as per standard operating procedures, and possessing excellent communication skills.

Critical activities involved in this role include:

  • Managing open-ended hedge funds with reconciliation and integration of trades for clients.
  • Accounting/booking of corporate actions trades.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly GAV/NAV preparation, including:
  • Booking of capital activities
  • Market value reconciliation.
  • Computation of profit and loss for financial instruments.
  • Expense accounting.
  • Dividend accrual reconciliation.
  • Bond coupon accrual reconciliation.
  • Confirming trial balance ledgers tie-up with various sub-ledgers.
  • In-depth understanding of preparing and reviewing financial statements (US GAAP, IFRS).

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Chartered Accountant or MBA with 5+ years of experience.
  • In-depth understanding of preparing and reviewing financial statements (US GAAP, IFRS).
  • Good understanding of financial/Capital Markets products, including Equity, Bonds, Futures, Options, FX forwards.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and formulas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Certification courses in financial markets/products, experience with general ledger accounting software, and experience in mutual fund accounting/audit are highly desirable.
