Job Title: Medical Transcription Specialist

A highly skilled Medical Transcription Specialist is required to listen to and transcribe medical dictations from audio recordings, producing accurate, written medical reports and documents. The ideal candidate will have excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical terminology, abbreviations, and syntax.

Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe medical dictations from audio recordings of doctor-patient consultations, creating clear, accurate reports that meet hospital/clinic standards and style requirements.
  • Review, edit and proofread transcribed reports for grammar, spelling and medical terminology errors, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and quality.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology and treatment assessments to understand complex medical information and accurately convey it in written reports.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling patient records according to healthcare data protection guidelines.
  • Utilize transcription software, speech recognition tools and electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to streamline work processes and improve productivity.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors or healthcare providers to clarify any doubts or concerns, ensuring seamless collaboration and timely delivery of reports.
  • Deliver high-quality reports within tight deadlines, meeting the needs of healthcare professionals and organizations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or specialized medical transcription training/certification.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, abbreviations, and syntax.
  • Familiarity with healthcare documentation standards and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of medical transcription software and EHR systems.
  • Ability to work independently with strong concentration and time management skills.
