Senior CAD Designer Position

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior CAD Designer to create innovative and manufacturable design solutions for engineering concepts. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in developing detailed and accurate 2D/3D CAD models.

Key Responsibilities
  • CAD Design Expertise: Utilize SolidWorks to create accurate and manufacturable designs for base frames, acoustic canopies, electrical cabinets, and portable light towers.
  • Design Optimization: Ensure feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and design intent alignment by applying strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and materials.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project teams to coordinate designs, address feedback from fabrication and QA, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Sheet Metal Expertise
  • Material Knowledge: Apply understanding of material types and gauges, bend allowances, and K-factors to simplify assembly and improve quality.
  • Welding Symbols: Use industry-standard welding symbols for MIG, TIG, fillet, groove, and corner welds to ensure proper weld sequences and access considerations.
Cross-functional Work
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in internal design reviews, DFM reviews, and compliance checks to guarantee all designs follow customer and ISO standards.
Electrical Cabinets and Integration
  • Electrical Enclosures: Design sheet metal enclosures for electrical components with proper ventilation, cable routing provisions, safety clearances, and access points.
  • Mechanical-Electrical Integration: Understand challenges related to mechanical-electrical integration to ensure smooth operation.
Documentation & Data Management
  • Repository Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized repository of all design files, BOMs, and change logs.
  • Version Control: Document design revisions clearly and follow version control protocols to ensure transparency.
