Senior Financial Governance Specialist

About the Role

This position is responsible for developing innovative solutions to complex financial problems, planning and managing intricate financial tasks, and analyzing and extracting core issues in business processes to ensure strong financial governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic solutions to address financial challenges and enhance performance.
  • Plan, organize, and manage complex financial situations across units, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze business processes to identify key areas for improvement and implement effective cost-saving strategies.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including variance analysis and ageing reports, to inform senior management decision-making.
  • Head the internal audit department, implementing tools and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to mitigate financial risks.
  • Submit and revise Internal Audit Charters and Audit Plans as required, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and local tax regulations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in value improvement initiatives and capex project reviews to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Contribute to profit optimization through detailed contribution analysis reports, highlighting opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Liaise with statutory and internal auditors for quarterly audits and financial reviews, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Qualifications

A Chartered Accountant or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration with minimum 20 years of experience in auditing, financial analysis, and compliance.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, auditing procedures, financial planning, reporting, and audit tools.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, with ability to analyze complex financial data and create actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
