Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced EHS Lead to join our team at Lifelancer. As an EHS Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and operating a Centre of Excellence in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) at Syngene.

About the Role

The EHS Lead will play a crucial role in developing leadership skills by empowering all employees within the organization to lead on EHS and integrate EHS aspects into all facets of business and operations. You will manage data and information to monitor and assess EHS management systems, link EHS goals to other organizational objectives, and promote off-job safety and environmental initiatives as part of Syngene's corporate citizenship.

You will assure process consistency across locations, better address regulatory requirements, or streamline continuous improvement initiatives. The EHS Lead will facilitate the collection of EHS standards and practices throughout the organization and serve as a community of practice for a given topic area, encouraging sharing and knowledge flow throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of EHS management systems and processes
  • Manage the EHS risk assessment matrix and continuously monitor the status of acceptable risk
  • Optimize operational EHS efficiency across plants/projects by implementing consistent, repeatable processes
  • Drive best practices in processes collected from across the organization and further standardize, improve, and redistribute them to the entire organization
  • Provide leadership and expertise in all aspects of Environment, Occupational Health, Hygiene, Safety & Sustainability, Loss Prevention, and Emergency Management across all Syngene locations

The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of experience in implementing EHSS management systems and processes, standards, and policies for multiple sites. You will also have experience in process safety and administrative safety management in the Chemical/Pharmaceutical/Bio-Technology / Biologics manufacturing industry.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Graduate Engineer degree from a recognized University, preferably in Chemical/Civil Engineering
  • Diploma in Industrial Safety from State Board, RLI, CLI
  • Well-versed with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Projects
  • Good command of English, both oral and written, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of lifecycle management in pharmaceutical industries
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices
