Job Title: Patent Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Associate to join our team at R. K. Dewan & Co. in Pune. As a Patent Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in the field of intellectual property rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patent and non-patent literature searches to identify relevant prior art, freedom to operate, and invalidation searches.
  • Provide insightful analysis of search results, preparing and delivering timely patent search reports based on established protocols.
  • Draft Provisional and Complete Specifications for patent applications.
  • Assist in Examination reports and Office Actions by providing technical arguments and attending hearings at the Indian Patent Office.
  • Support Patent Oppositions and provide technical assistance to the litigation team through research and analysis of recent cases.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend IPR conferences in India and abroad, representing the firm effectively.
  • Contribute to writing articles on behalf of the firm in various journals and magazines.
  • Participate in and conduct internal knowledge/resource sharing sessions.
  • Assist in tracking and meeting deadlines set by Senior Management.
  • Utilize and update data in the firm's IP Management System.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate in Computer Science with a good academic record.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPR or two years of experience in IPR.
  • Preference will be given to registered patent agents.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of IPR for the Patent Associate/Patent Analyst position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and required drawing packages.
  • Excellent command over the English language (written and verbal).

Terms and Conditions:

  • Candidates will be required to sign a contract for a minimum period of three years.
  • Salary and other terms shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
