R. K. Dewan & Co. Patent Associate

Job Description:

As a Patent Associate at R. K. Dewan & Co., you will play a crucial role in combining technical expertise with intellectual property knowledge. We are seeking confident team players with strong analytical skills to manage various tasks and prioritize workflow effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patent and non-patent literature searches, including prior art, freedom to operate, invalidation, and other searches.
  • Provide insightful analysis of search results by preparing and delivering timely patent search reports based on established protocols.
  • Draft Provisional and Complete Specifications for patent applications.
  • Respond to Examination reports and Office Actions with technical arguments and attend hearings at the Indian Patent Office.
  • Assist in Patent Oppositions and provide technical support to the litigation team through research and analysis.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend IPR conferences and represent the firm effectively.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, and orientation programs to promote the firm and create IP awareness.
  • Contribute to writing articles on behalf of the firm in various journals and magazines.
  • Participate in and conduct internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Contribute to the firm's newsletter.
  • Assist in tracking and meeting deadlines set by Senior Management.
  • Utilize and update data in the firm's IP Management System.

Group Leaders will be client-facing and report to Senior Management. Individuals with lesser experience will report to Group Leaders in their technical field.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate in Chemical Engineering with a good academic record.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPR or two years of experience in IPR.
  • Preference given to registered patent agents.
  • Minimum two years of experience in the field of IPR for the Patent Associate/Patent Analyst position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and required drawing packages.
  • Excellent command over the English language (written and verbal).

Candidates with excellent engineering domain knowledge and impeccable English language skills, with little or no patent knowledge, but with an interest in making a career in IPR, are also welcome to apply.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Candidates will be required to sign a contract for a minimum period of three years.
  • Salary and other terms will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
