Cloud Infrastructure Expert

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for delivering high-quality and timely cloud infrastructure support to ensure the availability, stability, and performance of datacentres, platforms, and corporate systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage virtualised environments and storage arrays
  • Implement backup, replication, HA, and recovery technologies
  • Ensure server security management
  • Provide expertise for cloud infrastructure deployment

Organisational Structure

This position is part of the Infrastructure department and reports to the Infrastructure Head.

Team Responsibilities

The team is responsible for the administration and management of all development, UAT, pre-production, production, and DR environments as well as internal corporate IT systems.

Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

The team must ensure uptime SLAs are met every month by managing and resolving issues logs; performing scheduled maintenance to minimise disruption; managing third-party support contracts where required to provide support levels.

System Performance

The team must ensure performance SLAs are met every month by monitoring system performance, capacity, and growth; suggesting and implementing performance improvements and hardware/software refreshes.

Information Security

The team must ensure the FNZ network and systems are internally and externally secure by following existing policies and procedures and documenting for audit purposes as required by ISO 27001; implementing security projects; completing risk assessments and build guides for new and existing systems.

Business Continuity

The team must ensure FNZ-held data is secure and backed up by ensuring regular backups are made and tested; participating in yearly BCP & DR tests; ensuring any new build is in line with company requirements and departmental policy for resilience and availability; documenting resilience and backup plans for all new builds.

Professional Development

The team must develop professional and technical knowledge and skills. Provide technical advice and mentoring within the team.

Project Delivery

Implement new projects to meet project timelines and deadlines. Recommend changes to the IT manager that could reduce costs in your areas of responsibility.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree-qualified or equivalent industry certifications and experience.
  • Cloud infrastructure management skills.
  • Knowledge of automation scripting.
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of latest cloud computing technologies.
  • Successfully implemented cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Good team player with the ability to work independently and able to take initiative, drive change, and new technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Passionate about providing an excellent service experience for our clients.

  • Able to work in a rapidly changing environment.
