Job Title: Technical Superintendent

A leading role for a skilled Technical Superintendent to oversee day-to-day technical operations of tankers and bulk carriers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a dynamic company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Technical Operations Management: Ensure vessel seaworthiness, track reports, and analyze performance/defects to maintain prompt and effective closures.
  • PMS Compliance and Efficiency: Monitor PMS compliance, propose database and system improvements, and implement efficiency gains.
  • Certification and Documentation: Maintain validity of all certification and documentation, liaise with classification societies and flag authorities as necessary.
  • Vessel Readiness: Prepare vessels for oil major vetting/Rightship inspections and ensure readiness.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with Company IMS, international regulations (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS), and all flag requirements.
  • Dry-Docking and Repairs: Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, technical projects, including upgrades/retrofits and major maintenance.
  • Onboard Support and Training: Provide technical guidance and training to onboard crew, including new equipment.
  • Incident Investigation and Improvement: Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and propose improvement in procedures and manuals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Chief Engineer degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 10-12 years in the shipping industry, with at least 2 years sailing experience as a Chief Engineer, and prefer at least 2 years of shore experience as Superintendent.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of TMSA and Rightship requirements, experience working on cranes and grabs, and work experience on ME engines.
