Direct Taxation Specialist Job Description

This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Direct Tax specialist to provide expert advice and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and submit tax returns and appeals for individuals, partnership firms, HUF, companies etc.
    • Represent before assessing officers and various authorities for assessment and appeal proceedings.
  • Litigation and Representation:
    • Brief managers and counsels for CIT (appeals), tribunal and high court matters.
    • Draft and prepare submissions and paper books for matters before various appellate authorities.
  • Tax Advisory, Structuring and Planning:
    • Provide advisory over domestic/international taxation.
    • Prepare form 15 CA/CB for various clients.
    • Advisory and planning over tax structures and evaluating the taxability for the structures.
  • Other areas:
    • Support partners and managers in day-to-day assignments.
    • Support business development.
    • Solve day-to-day client queries.
    • Review tax audit reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

8-10+ years of experience in Direct Tax.

Excellent knowledge of Indian Direct Tax Laws and working mechanics of government departments.

Familiarity with frequent changes in tax laws and regulations.

Ability to handle complex tax assessments and litigations.

Cross-functional data coordination skills.

Experience in transfer pricing and compliance for cross-border transactions.

Interpersonal and collaborative working skills.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working presentation skills.
