About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our applications and systems. Your expertise in designing and administering platforms will help us achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute incident management processes to build a reliable application suite that meets development and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming.
  • Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning.
  • Constantly improve and implement automation of applications tasks.
  • Provide technical support for systems/platforms according to application SLA's.
  • Design and develop resiliency in application code, troubleshoot incidents, engage with squads, and participate in incident management.
  • Lead calls or contribute logically.
  • Focus on resolving issues before they become incidents.
  • Identify and articulate severity impacts using provided monitoring tools and escalate when needed.
  • Analyze architecture and design of applications to identify or narrow focus for an incident based on symptoms.
  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions and prevent recurring problems.
  • Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
  • Implement changes to platforms with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT field, plus 3 years of applicable experience in the design/administration/support of one or more platforms, or Bachelor's degree in an IT field, plus 2 years of applicable experience in the design/administration/support of one or more platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience with ops automation using a scripting language like Python or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering theories and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of system performance, testing, and programming.
  • CI/CD pipeline knowledge and ability to design, build, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Kubernetes and AWS knowledge.
  • Docker experience (good to have).
  • Software Release Management knowledge and ability to evaluate and improve release management practices and tools.
  • Application Maintenance knowledge and ability to monitor application functions and resolve issues.
  • Software Engineering knowledge and ability to deliver new or enhanced software products.
  • Agile Development knowledge and ability to utilize formal agile methodologies.
