**Director of Valuation and Business Strategy**

We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in complex financial instruments to join our valuation team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects, providing exposure to financial analysis, business and financial modeling and forecasting, and valuations focusing on complex financial instruments and derivatives, including convertible instruments, embedded derivatives, earn-outs, interest rate derivatives, common and preferred stock, and other securities along with private debt instruments, options, warrants, and other derivative products.

Our clients rely on us for mergers, acquisitions; venture financing and public offerings (IPOs); taxation planning and compliance; financial reporting; and strategic planning. We provide valuation services to assurance and tax clients, as well as support them in their business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an effective sales and marketing process for the valuation practice area, including establishing specific growth goals.
  • Maintain an established referral network and engage in networking with peers in other geographic markets and areas of assurance, tax, and business consulting.
  • Contribute thought leadership in the practice area and serve as a primary advisor to clients/manage CFI engagement team members.
  • Oversee and train/develop other CFI valuation professionals.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with centers of influence and professionals.
  • Effectively manage overall client relationships to exceed client satisfaction.
  • Manage the fundamentals, including realization, utilization, leverage, accounts, receivable, and expenses.
  • Embody thought leadership and mentor/coach staff.
  • Integrate firm strategy and promote cross-selling and integrating of service lines.
  • Promote RSM brand through thought leadership and embracing the RSM marketing campaign and programs supported by the firm.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Quantitative Field (Math, Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or related area of study), MBA or other Master's degree a plus.
  • Professional Certifications: ABV/CPA, ASA or CFA.
  • Experience valuing complex financial instruments.
  • Expertise in Option Pricing Models, Monte Carlo and Binomial Models.
  • Proficiency in Monte Carlo programs (@risk, Crystal Ball), Lattice models, coding (MatLab, R, etc.), Bloomberg, etc.
  • Practice development and management, marketing, and thought leadership related to complex financial instruments.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and leverage them to sell Firm solutions.
