Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node/TypeScript and experience with cloud-based technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop efficient, scalable backend systems using Node/TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with data teams to design and implement data contracts and storage needed for AI features.
  • Implement event-driven design, retries/idempotency, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Integrate LLM/NLP APIs with guardrails and cost/timeout controls.
  • Work closely with product and stakeholders to gather feedback and demo progress.

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of backend engineering experience with strong Node/TypeScript in production.
  • Event-driven design, retries/idempotency, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Hands-on LLM/NLP API integrations or clear evidence of ability to ramp quickly.
  • Solid understanding of queues, object storage, and background workers.
  • Testing culture and CI/CD experience.
  • Comfort with cloud basics: IAM, secrets, logging, container runtime.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with RAG patterns, vector stores, or prompt evaluation frameworks.
  • Fintech or document-heavy workflows.
  • Python for small AI utilities alongside Node services.
