Occupational Therapist Job Description

About the Role:

This is a full-time on-site role for an Occupational Therapist at one of our specialized clinics in Visakhapatnam.

The Occupational Therapist will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to children with various developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges, assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to promote independence, improve functional skills, and enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate children's developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities through comprehensive assessments and clinical observations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and child/family goals, providing direct occupational therapy interventions and modifying plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents/caregivers to develop home programs, provide education and training on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment use, and strategies to promote child independence, maintaining open communication to ensure ongoing collaboration and support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information, adhering to all ethical and legal requirements related to patient confidentiality and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and educators, staying current with evidence-based practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in India.
  • Experience working with children with various developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges, knowledge of pediatric assessment tools and treatment techniques, strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
