Job Title: Taxation Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Financial Services Tax Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting detailed reviews of complex financial services client returns, including hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds, as well as blocker corporation returns and S-corporation returns prepared by staff/senior/Supervisor.
  • Reviewing state returns for financial services clients.
  • Identifying international filing requirements through organizational chart studies and reviewing international tax returns.
  • Training existing/new joiners on concepts, technology, and providing timely feedback for each project reviewed.
  • Leading kick-off calls to understand the client, regular connects with US counterparts by teams, and intervening in conflicts.
  • Guiding staff/seniors on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Recruitments, training, performance evaluation, mentoring team members, and facilitating trainings and developing training materials for technical topics.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to conduct independent tax research in unseen tax scenarios.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • A willingness to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learning, positive demeanor, and a team player attitude.
  • Availability to work long hours during busy season times.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work based on the urgency of projects.
  • Multitasking and handling various projects simultaneously in an efficient manner.
  • Excellent training and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to guide subordinates through technical problems.
  • Strong working relationships with peers, supervisors, and US colleagues.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • A qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (US), or IRS Enrolled Agent certification.
  • Experience in detailed review of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and Case ware.
  • At least 8+ years of experience, preferably in financial services returns.
