Job OverviewA key role exists for a skilled professional to manage various billing and collection processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.The successful applicant will be responsible for generating accurate invoices, managing cash application and reconciliations, and supporting the team in resolving customer disputes.This position requires a high degree of organization, dependability, and adaptability, as well as a basic understanding of invoicing, tax regulations, and accounting principles.Key Responsibilities
  • Billing and Invoicing
  1. Prepare accurate monthly invoices for subscriptions and usage.
  2. Attach usage reports and issue corrected invoices or credit notes after approvals.
Collections
  1. Send reminders, make follow-up calls/emails, record promises to pay, and escalate risks to the team.
  2. Support simple payment plans after internal approval.
Cash Application and Reconciliations
  1. Apply each receipt to the right invoice and clear short payments or unknown receipts within the agreed timeline.
  2. Reconcile Stripe and bank statements.
Taxes and Compliance (Supporting Role)
  1. Assist in creating GST compliant invoices.
  2. Manage e-invoicing and the e-invoice reference number.
  3. Verify TDS details and collect certificates.
Usage and Partner Pass-Throughs
  1. Compile monthly usage from systems and partner portals.
  2. Match partner costs to customer billing and flag any gaps that affect margins.
Reporting and Month-End Close
  1. Update weekly reports on collections health, aging of unpaid invoices, and open disputes.
  2. Prepare month-end schedules, including lists of unapplied cash and disputes.
Purchase Orders and Customer Portals
  1. Track purchase order status and balances.
  2. Upload invoices and back-ups to customer portals and resolve any rejections.
Customer Setup and Renewals
  1. Maintain customer master data.
  2. Prepare renewal pro-formas and ensure invoices are released on time.
Processes and Systems
  1. Keep standard operating procedures and checklists current.
  2. Raise data issues in the customer relationship management system or billing system.
Collaboration
  1. Work with Sales and Customer Success on purchase orders, renewals, and disputes.
  2. Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Revenue Operations, and Product teams on pricing or usage-metering issues.
Requirements
  • Graduation required; finance specialisation preferred.
  • 0–2 years in billing, accounts receivable, or collections (internships count).
  • Basic understanding of invoicing, GST, e-invoicing, and TDS is a plus.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; comfortable using accounting tools and a customer relationship management system.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; firm yet customer-friendly approach to collections.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, dependable, and eager to learn.
Success Metrics
  • On-time billing and invoice accuracy.
  • Percentage of payments collected by due dates.
  • Average days taken to collect payments.
  • Aging of unpaid invoices (especially those pending over 60–90 days).
  • Number of disputes and the time taken to resolve them.
  • Amount of receipts not yet matched to invoices, cleared within the agreed timeline.
